Krissy and Simon chose a spring Dairy Barns wedding in Hickling, Norfolk. They wanted to have a relaxed barn wedding and be close to the coast for some personal portraits at the beach. They certainly had the best of both worlds for their special day.
The spring day was a little chilly and over cast, but Krissy’s pretty pastel colour palette looked gorgeous and really brightened up the day. Her flowers of lemon, baby blue and white were created by her Nanna and looked perfect for the occasion. All of the bridesmaids wore blue gowns and their lemon and white flowers really worked well.
Krissy and her girls stayed in the cottages owned by Dairy Barns so that they were all together for their preparations. Hair and Makeup was provided by GirlyGlam Makeup and Hair who cover Norfolk and Suffolk. They did a wonderful soft and natural look for Krissy and her girls which looked fab all day long.
Krissy has beautiful poise and grace and her delicate dress from Grace and Lace in Colchester, Essex fitted her styled so well.
As Krissy and all her bridesmaids got ready to leave for the ceremony, the sun made a brief appearance during portraits, the late cherry blossoms made the perfect surrounding adding to the pastel colour scheme.
Simon has the biggest smile I have ever seen! And he’s ALWAYS smiling! He couldn’t wait for Krissy to arrive…
…no nerves, just happiness.
As Krissy and Simon shared their first married kiss the sun really came out!
Krissy and Simon’s married name is Cowing, so it was really fitting that they married at a dairy barn and had little salutes to cows across the day.
Much of the styling was created by Krissy herself to make it completely personal and perfect for them and their day.
Each of wedding cakes were also homemade by Simon’s Mum and other relatives to be completely personal – and were in their favourite flavours. There was even a gluten free option which I thought was a lovely touch to be able to offer something for all guests to enjoy. I also loved that their cake topper included their little cat Winnie – I love when pets are included (as a cat owner myself).
After Krissy and Simon said ‘I do’ we went off to the beach – a lovely 2 mile drive through country lanes – for some personal portraits and time for them to catch their breath and just enjoy themselves for a little while.
I loved these portraits amongst the dunes with a slightly moody sky. The chilly air and clouds meant that we had the whole beach to ourselves.
We went back to the celebrations, where an afternoon tea with pink champagne was waiting for them and their gusts to enjoy.
More delicious cakes created by Hannah and her team.
Speeches are always a highlight, but when the best men dress up to relive the stag do – it’s even better!
There wasn’t really a sunset, but that didn’t stop Krissy and Simon going outside for some late afternoon portraits, and it was so worth it for this couple to have a few more moments of personal time as well as photographs.
Evening celebrations commenced with the cake cutting and then Krissy and Simon gliding around the dance floor to their first song and then an evening of revelry and a warming hog roast supper.
This couple had the most amazing day, created by a lot of inspiration and hard work. It was an honour for me to be part of and I loved every minute!
